About The Course
INCEPTION
The Post Graduate Department of Information Technology was instituted in the year 2001.
OBJECTIVE
- The objective of Information Technology course is to produce competent manpower of international standard, trained and educated in information technology to perform efficiently in relevant fields.
- Information technology will not be limited to computer science only, rather mobile phones, radio, television data collection and processing of information are also to be included and emphasis will be given on its multi-angular necessity.

FACILITIES
A selection of books in the Department library is available for faculty and students.
Two well equipped computer laboratories with sufficient number of systems with LAN facilities, internet connectivity and printer. Required softwares have been installed.
ACTIVITIES
- The Department organizes several activities to empower the students to face the competitive world with self confidence. It also believes in exposing them to lectures from a variety of resource persons.

SEMINAR
- The Departments of Computer Science, Computer Applications and PG department of IT organized National seminar on “Innovations in Information Science & Intelligent Systems” on 27th November 2019. Dr. T.V. Gopal, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering delivered the Inaugural address.

DEPARTMENT MAGAZINE
The Department brings out inhouse magazine “CYBERTECH” every year which comprises the articles related on recent trends in Computer Science and Information Technology.
CLUB ACTIVITY
- ‘The Department of Computer Science and IT aims at fostering the upcoming trends and help students acquire a clear knowledge about the IT field. Computer Science Club “FLASH PROMS” mainly focus in developing student’s capability, talents and their knowledge in the field of Computer Science. Training program on “Basics of Computer” for the school students are conducted.
INTER DEPARTMENT COMPETITION IN COLLABORATION WITH PLACEMENT CELL
- In collaboration with Placement Cell, we conducted inter-departmental activities like “As you like it” and “Logo Design” and the prizes were distributed by Ms.Rajyashri Iraianbu, Director, Placement & Training.
INTERNSHIP & PROJECT
Students were sent to various IT companies to do their internship and projects in organizations such as SLN Technologies, Alltech Solutions Pvt Ltd, Mirror Technology Pvt Ltd

- Ms. Viju V.R published a research paper in Springer book entitled “Recent Trends and Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things,” on the topic of “LPR based on K-Means clustering algorithm” in Intel. Syst. Ref. Library, Vol. 172 Issue – 2020.
- Ms. P. Renuka published a research paper “Analysis Study on How to Secure IoT Systems using Blockchain Technology” in JOICS an International open access UGC Journal with ISSN no.1548-7741.
- K. Gangadevi. V published a research article titled “Analysis on Cloud Security Storage Techniques” in STD Journal with ISSN no. 0950-9707.
- Dr.K.L.Sumathy, published a paper on “Similarity studies of techniques in Data Mining” in the International Journal of Information and Computing Science on June 2019.
