INCEPTION
The Department of Computer Application was established in the year 1999.
OBJECTIVE
The department enables the students to develop skills so as to equip them to meet the challenges of the Computer and Information Technology world at a global level
The Department takes special effort to enrich the students by supplementing the syllabus with various department activities
The Department is armed with well qualified, dedicated & professionally experienced faculty members to equip our students in major thrust areas like data mining, artificial intelligence, digital image processing and machine learning etc.

FACILITIES
- Two well equipped computer laboratories with sufficient number of systems with LAN facilities, internet connectivity and printer. Required softwares have been installed.
- The Department Library is well stocked with 185 books.
CERTIFICATE COURSE
A certificate course on Advancement from Assembly Language to Artificial Intelligence for a duration of 30 hours is offered in the 3rd semester.
ACTIVITIES
The main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between the subjects studied at school and the subjects they would be studying during the graduate courses. Bridge course is a short intensive course offered for the students to provide knowledge about the degree program and various curricular, co-curricular and extra- curricular activities in the college.
SEMINARS, CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS
· National Seminar on “Technolinearity - The Path to Scientific Growth” was organized on 23.09.2022.It was inaugurated by Dr VaidehiVijayakumar, Vice Chancellor, Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal. Other resource persons included Mr. Suresh Rangarajan, Principal Consultant, Thought works, Chennai, Mr Ravi Varman, Solution Architect, Ford Motors, Chennai, Mr Suresh Chaluvadi, Supraja Tehcnologies, ICTACT, Vijaywada and Mr Lawrence George Mannan, Minuscule Technologies.
· National Workshop on “Web Designing” was held on 30.08.2022. The resource person was Mr.Balan of Smart Way Institution.

· Guest lecture on “Opportunities and Challenges of Cryptography ” on 25.7.22 by Ms.Bhuvaneshwari.
· Guest lecture on “Why Now Google Cloud Platform ” on 16-08-2022 by Mr.Ravivarman.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Ms. Sandhiya V and Ms. Subhashini Aparticipated in the event Tech Charades conducted by Sathyabama Institute of Technology on 5th& 6th August 2022 and won 1stplace and a cash prize of Rs2500/-.
Ms. Revathi T, Ms. Subhashini A, Ms. Swetha V and Ms. Veda swetha D participated in the event Architech conducted by Sathyabama Institute of Technology on 5th& 6th August 2022 and won 2nd place and a cash prize of Rs 1500/-.
Ms. Saraswathi fromII BCA secured the yoga sudar award at Malaysia.
