The Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The YRC Unit of our College conducted a series of impactful activities, focusing on humanitarian service, health awareness, and social responsibility. The YRC Orientation and Pledge programs witnessed active participation from over 300–500 students, fostering values of compassion, volunteerism, and commitment to community service.

Awareness initiatives on health and hygiene, Chikungunya, and Bird Flu reached more than 1000 students, educating them on disease prevention, safety, and hygienic practices. Programs such as International Peace Day and Social and Civic Responsibility sessions encouraged discussions on global harmony, ethical values, and active citizenship.

The unit also organized a “No Plastics Environment Campaign” at Virugambakkam, promoting eco-friendly practices and sustainable living. Overall, these activities strengthened students’ sense of responsibility towards society, health, and the environment.
