About The Course
INCEPTION
The Department of Computer Science was instituted in the year 1996.
OBJECTIVE
- B.Sc Computer Science degree will lead to successful career. The knowledge and skills gained with this degree will prepare graduates for a broad range of jobs in every sector of the economy
- The course will shape the students to work at the cutting-edge of computer science, networks or security, to help shape tomorrow’s world of digital living and equips them for a career that’s entirely future-proof

FACILITIES
A selection of books in the Department library is available for faculty and students.
Two well equipped computer laboratories with sufficient number of systems with LAN facilities, internet connectivity and printer. Required softwares have been installed.
A Report of the activities of 2019-2020
CERTIFICATE COURSE
- The Department offers a 20 hours course on Skill development training program for competitive exam & Numerical, Analytical, Logical & Communication Skills for second year students.
SEMINAR
- The Departments of Computer Science, Computer Applications and PG department of IT organized National seminar on “Innovations in Information Science & Intelligent Systems” on 27th November 2019. Dr. T.V. Gopal, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering delivered the Inaugural address.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Final year students of UG went on an Industrial Visit to “Meterological Department”, Meenambakkam.
DEPARTMENT MAGAZINE
The Department brings out inhouse magazine “CYBERTECH” every year which comprises of articles related to recent trends in Computer Science and Information Technology.
CLUB ACTIVITY
Shift I – Flash Proms
Shift II - SWAT
- Training program on “Basics of Computer” for the school students.
- The Department of Computer Science (Shift - II) organized the club day “SWAT” and distributed prizes to the students who participated in various events. The intercollegiate event Technofest - 2020 was held on 21st February 2020 and students from various colleges actively participated in the various events.
INTER DEPARTMENT COMPETITION IN COLLABORATION WITH PLACEMENT CELL
In collaboration with Placement Cell, we conducted inter-departmental activities like “As you like it” and “Logo Design” and the prizes were distributed by Ms.Rajyashri Iraianbu, Director, Placement & Training.
INTERNSHIP
Students were sent to Vedha Technologies software development company, DLK Career Development, SLN Technologies, ITK Education Service Pvt ltd , RIT Infotech for internship .
STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT
- Students participated in the life skill training program conducted on 15th February 2020 at IIT Campus. It was conducted to enhance the well being of students towards holistic development in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras sponsored by National Commission for women.
- S. Harini and P. Ramya of III B.Sc Computer Science won II place in “Techno Quiz” at Anna Adarsh College for Women.
- G. Gajalakshmi and Angel Sarah Josephine of II B.Sc Computer Science won II place in “Mishmash (Tech Pot Pouri)” at Anna Adarsh College for Women .
- B.Thanasri and R. Ramya of III B.Sc (Computer Science) won I place in “BUZZIT” at Valliammal College for Women .
- G. Gajalakshmi and Angel Sarah Josephine of II B.Sc Computer Science won I place in “Syntax Identification” at Thiruthangal Nadar College .
- C. Sree Kamakshi (Special student) of II B.Sc (Computer Science) secured winner price in the “Carrom” event conducted by Rotract Club of the New College at New College .

- Ms. Viju V.R. published a research paper in Springer book “Recent Trends and Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things,” on the topic of “LPR based on K-Means clustering algorithm” in Intel. Syst. Ref. Library, Vol. 172 Issue – 2020.
- Ms. P. Renuka published a research paper “Analysis Study on How to Secure IoT Systems using Blockchain Technology” in JOICS an International open access UGC Journal with ISSN no.1548-7741.
- K. Gangadevi. published a research article titled “Analysis on Cloud Security Storage Techniques” in STD Journal with ISSN no. 0950-9707.
- Dr.K.L.Sumathy, published a paper on “Similarity studies of techniques in Data Mining in the International Journal of Information and Computing Science on June 2019.
- Dr.K.LSumathy, published a paper on “A new dimension of graph theory technique in healthcare domain application” in the Journal of emerging technologies and innovative research on 04/06/2019.
- Dr.K.L.Sumathy, published a paper on “A graph theory technique implementation in benefits of human organ blood circulation using MATLAB” in the International Journal of science and engineering development research on August 2019.
