About The Course
INCEPTION
The Department of Computer Application was established in the year 1999.
OBJECTIVE
- The Department takes special effort to enrich the students by supplementing the syllabus with various department activities. It enables the students to develop skills so as to equip them to meet the challenges of the IT world at a global level.
- The Department is armed with well qualified, dedicated & professionally experienced faculty members to equip our students in major thrust areas like data mining, artificial intelligence, digital image processing and machine learning etc.

FACILITIES
- Two well equipped computer laboratories with sufficient number of systems with LAN facilities, internet connectivity and printer. Required softwares have been installed.
- The Department Library is well stocked with 185 books.
ACTIVITIES
The Department organizes several activities outside the classroom to motivate students and encourages them to hone their skills. It also believes in exposing them to lectures from a variety of resource persons.

CERTIFICATE COURSE
- The Department offers a 20 hours course on Innovative Development in IT & Career development and interview Skills for second year students.
SEMINAR
The Departments of Computer Science, Computer Applications and Information Technology organized a National Seminar on “Innovations in Information Science and Intelligent Systems” on 27th November 2019.It was inaugurated by Dr. T.V. Gopal, Professor Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Anna University, Chennai.

DEPARTMENT MAGAZINE
- Mr. Sidhartha Satpathy, Associate Vice President, Finance Software & Systems Pvt Ltd released the department magazine Cyber Quest’19.
INTERCOLLEGIATE MEET
- Intercollegiate meet Cyber Fest’19(Shift 1) was conducted. Activities such as paper presentation, quiz, debugging, poster designing, technical singing were conducted. Students from different colleges in the city participated and won prizes.
CLUB

Shift 2: Digitech Club
- Digitize Club and Digitech club conducted various events like Internship Project Submission, Certificate Designing, Poster Designing, Invitation Designing, Connexions and Quiz, which gave an opportunity to our students to exhibit their talents.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL COMPETITION
- The Department of BCA collaborated with Placement Cell and organized an interdepartmental competition Crossword on 5th December 2019. More than 90 students from different departments took part in the event.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
Department of BCA has been successfully doing community service at Andra Mahila Sabha Hospital for the past 8 years.
INTERNSHIP
II Year UG Students go for internship training during the summer vacation. They have interned in companies such as Synaptics Dot Inc., Code Bind Technologies, Criben Technologies, Helios and Matheson IT Ltd, SS Computer Service System and Digiterati Solutions.
STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS
- The Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications conducted the personalized life skill training for second year students to enhance well-being of girl student towards holistic development in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras sponsored by National Commission for Women,
- M.Gayathri and K.Lakshmi Priya won second prize in happy snappy event conducted in Thiruthangal Nadar College.
- K.Abirami, Y.Keerthana, M.Ashwini, R.Aezhil Aarasi, R.Hemalatha and Kavi Bharathi won first prize in Adzap conducted in Hindustan College of Arts and Science.
- .M.Suganya and S.Priyadharshini won first prize in the event Treasure hunt in Ethiraj College for Women.
- .K.Abirami, R.Aezhil Aarasi, Y.Keerthana, N.Priyadharshini, S.Saranya, Kavi Selvi, V.Divya and M.Ashwini won second prize in the event Adzap conducted in Ethiraj College for Women.
- G.Keerthana won second prize in the event Paper Presentation conducted in Ethiraj College for Women.
- S.Sudhraeshwari and Divya of II BCA won a prize in Tamil Writing Competition at DB Jain College
