Rotaract Club

Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel Dist.3232 is the parent club of The Rotaract club of Dr.MGR- Janaki College of Arts & Science for Women. The District’s Theme for the year 2019-2020 is ”Dream_Transform _Inspire”.

The theme of our club is Together_Towards_Tomorrow. The Rotaract members engage in a wide range of activities including social, professional and community events. They create positive change in their local communities.

Objectives of the Rotaract Club:

  • To develop professional and leadership skills
  • To emphasize respect for the rights of others
  • To provide opportunities for the young people to address the needs and concerns of the community

Activities of the Year 2019-20

  • The Installation ceremony of “PIXIES” in which the members from the parent club and district graced the occasion. The action plan for the year was released. The new board members took over the responsibilities of the club and were all set to implement their plans.
  • Orientation of Green Rotaractors,”Hatch Lings” was held during which Rtr.Vingesh, Rtr.Shakthi and Rtr.Prasanth enlightened the green Rotaractors on the history and scope of the club
  • Blood Donation Camp was organized  along with Voluntary Health Services in which  300 students donated blood.
  • Box office is a project in which the peer members and the new board members interacted with each other and shared their ideas on implementing innovative projects and planned their agenda for the year
  • NALLUN a program to create an awareness on organic foods was conducted during which significance of healthy and organic foods for a healthy living was briefed.
  • ARIVOM - Arts & craft session 
  • On World AIDS day members visited Adayar Cancer Institute and distributed some basic amenities to the inmates.
  • Agini Siragal -awareness on menstrual and personal hygiene. 
  • Mersal was the district cultural event to bring out the talents of rotaractors. 
  • Vocational Training Center in our college conducted Block Printing in which the art of dye mixing and printing on the fabric was conducted in collaboration with the FICCI Flo team.
  • The students were taken on a visit to UKON Collections, Egmore, where they were briefed on the fabric designing and dyeing materials.
