INCEPTION
The Department of Bioinformatics was established in 2002. The department has introduced the undergraduate programme in Bioinformatics from 2026. The Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics (B.Sc. Bioinformatics) program is designed to integrate biology, computer science and data analysis to meet the growing demands of modern biological research and healthcare industries.
OBJECTIVE
- The department enables students to develop interdisciplinary skills combining biology, computer science and statistics to address real-world biological problems.
- The department enriches students through a curriculum supported by practical training, workshops and research-oriented activities.
- The department is supported by well-qualified and experienced faculty members who guide students in key areas such as genomics, proteomics, computational biology, data analysis and drug discovery.
- The program prepares students for careers in research, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology industries at a global level.
