INCEPTION
The Department of Commerce was instituted in 1996. The B. Com (Honours) program is a specialized four-year (8 semesters) undergraduate degree designed to provide an intensive and in-depth understanding of business and commerce.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide advanced knowledge and technical expertise in accounting, finance and management, with emphasis on corporate accounting, financial management and income tax.
- To develop a strong understanding of regulatory and financial frameworks required for professional competence in the global business environment.
- To equip students with insights into modern business practices through areas such as digital business management, strategic management and emerging technologies in marketing.
- To foster strategic thinking, innovation and entrepreneurial skills along with ethical financial practices, including areas like forensic accounting.
- To enhance research, analytical and quantitative skills through project work, practical training and data-driven problem-solving approaches.
