INCEPTION
Centre of Postgraduate Legal Studies was established in the year 2019.
The LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Business Law is designed to provide advanced and specialised knowledge in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, commercial laws, corporate legal practices, and emerging issues in the business environment.
OBJECTIVE
- To provide advanced and specialised knowledge of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration, mediation, negotiation and conciliation in domestic and international contexts.
- To develop expertise in commercial and business law, with emphasis on corporate transactions, contracts, business regulations and resolution of commercial disputes.
- To equip students with practical skills in arbitration proceedings, mediation practices, negotiation strategies and dispute management for effective resolution of complex legal and commercial conflicts.
- To strengthen understanding of corporate governance, commercial contracts, insolvency, intellectual property and emerging business-related legal issues within national and international legal frameworks.
- To develop analytical, advocacy and research skills for addressing contemporary challenges in commercial dispute resolution, business law and cross-border transactions.
- To promote ethical, professional and solution-oriented approaches to dispute resolution and business law with emphasis on fairness, efficiency, confidentiality and access to justice.
